The single sided type generally works best for this type of repair peel the backing away from the adhesive side of the tape and carefully insert the piece into the cut out area smoothing it flat from below so that it sticks firmly to the carpet backing around the perimeter of the opening. Use a nail gun to nail the new carpet into place on the cat tree. Be sure all staples or nails are pushed into the structure completely to avoid snagging or scratching your cat. If using fabric or carpet secure the material to the structure using a heavy duty staple gun and staples or a hammer and nails.

There may be a seam almost anywhere on stair carpet. We can either use spare carpet to replace the damaged area or restore the fibres individually.

Repair this damage with hot melt tape. The binder helps to strengthen the area that was damaged the repair kit helps cover the scratch marks and the colorant restores the full luster of your couch. If your cat has caused a larger area of damage you will need first to strengthen the area using a leather binder then fix the scratches using a leather repair kit and finally restore the color using a leather colorant kit. Use a sharp carpet knife to remove the damaged section in one piece.

When a dog urinates on a carpet you can often have the carpet cleaned and just replace the padding. Carpet tape is available in double sided and single sided versions. If cats continuously tug on a single area the seam can pull loose causing a flap or split. Starting from one side of the loose section use the knee kick tool to ease the carpet edge over the tack strip pushing the carpet down onto the tack strip with your hands as you move from one.

Place a nail about every 2 inches for a secure hold. Use the old piece as a template when cutting the new piece of carpeting.
