Double glue down installation this method combines the stability of direct glue down carpet with the cushioning benefits of a separate cushion stretch in installation as outlined below. Lay out the tape along the entire length with the two pieces of carpet perfectly matched along their edges. Ideal for seaming carpet edges this special sealer prevents unraveling and delaminating. This type of seam tape requires that you apply adhesive to the cushion and then hot melt construction of seams.

Designed for use with polypropylene jute urethane latex unitary and woven backed carpets this sealer is also compatible with vinyl backed. Place the carpet pieces to be connected upside down so that the carpet seam tape can be easily placed on the bottom of the carpet. Using a single piece of tape for the entire seam helps to keep the seam tight. When padding is not desirable the carpet ends up directly on top of the concrete.

If you are replacing a section of already installed carpet just pull it back far enough so that plenty of the undersides are exposed. Center a line of carpet seaming tape underneath the two cut edges of the two pieces of carpet with the adhesive side facing up.
